Abstract
Comamonas testosteroni has rarely been implicated as a human pathogen. We report a case of infectious endocarditis due to this organism, occurring in a 49-year-old man. The posterior leaflet of the mitral valve contained a 1Ã1 cm vegetation and showed myxoid degeneration and acute inflammation. The patient had no evidence of reinfection after 32 months. The infection was almost certainly community acquired, as is usually true for this organism.
