Abstract
Sexual health has significant impact on quality of life among men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). BPH is a condition that commonly affects older men and is often associated with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and sexual dysfunction. The degree of sexual dysfunction matches the severity of LUTS. Treatment of BPH affects not only LUTS, but sexual function as well. Medical, surgical and minimally invasive therapies differ in their effect on erectile function, ejaculation, and sexual satisfaction. We describe the relation of LUTS/BPH with sexual dysfunction and the consequences in erectile function, libido, orgasm and ejaculatory problems of the various treatments for this condition.
