Abstract
Public and scientific concern about the potential risk of environmental pollutants to male reproductive health has been heightened, most of all due to the increasing number of reports that show a downward trend in semen quality, as well as increased rates of developmental urogenital tract anomalies and testicular cancer. There are several toxicants and pollutants that affect quality semen, and one of the most important are the heavy metals. Currently studies are limited and do not allow for a definitive conclusion on these chemicals affects human semen quality. Scientifics are increasingly able to measure levels of environmental pollutants in human samples, for identifying the role of environment in human fertility
