Abstract
⺠Infants and adults were presented with images of upright and inverted faces, and looking times and scan paths were compared. ⺠Scan paths among internal facial features as well as looking time to those features increase as a function of age. ⺠Similarity of scan paths among same age group increases as a function of age. ⺠These indices are higher for upright face than for inverted face. ⺠Our results indicate that processing of configural information gradually develops in infancy.
