Abstract
In type 2 diabetic patients without nephropathy, basal levels of tHcy were 35% lower compared with healthy controls. Chronic hyperglycemia may control tHcy by affecting its renal excretion, or accelerate hepatic trans-sulfuration secondary to insulin disorders.
