Abstract
Tumors of the jugular foramen pose a significant challenge. This stems from the complex anatomical relationships in the region of the jugular foramen and the often large and destructive lesions that arise in this location. Furthermore, the presence of critical neurovascular structures means that resection of tumors in this region is associated with significant morbidity. This chapter discusses the diagnosis of these tumors, their appropriate preoperative evaluation and characterization, and various management options. Classification of these tumors and the various surgical approaches available are outlined.
