Abstract
This article outlines the tools used by interventional neuroradiologists to treat giant aneurysms. The basic philosophy and techniques, including recent advances, are discussed in some detail. In particular, the relatively new stent technologies offer an additional weapon in the armentarium for treating these challenging lesions. Stent-assisted aneurysm coiling has significantly expanded the range of lesions that can successfully be treated endovascularly and represents a major advance in the field.
