Abstract
To conclude, we observed the following facts: Pyrexia is the most common presentation (100%). CMV IgM is not 100% sensitive test and NASBA can pick up those cases that are IgM negative. CMV disease can occur at any time post transplant rather than as usual presentation within 6 weeks. So high degree of suspicion is required even late in course. The outcome is better if treatment is started early. Our patients did well on half of the dose for maintenance therapy, which reduces the financial burden on the patients significantly.
