Abstract
Aplastic anaemia is a rare disease of the haematopoietic stem cell pool. Although some factors are known to induce aplastic anaemia, most of them are idiopathic. Aplastic anaemia is due to either a stem cell defect or to an autoimmune process. Aplastic anaemia can be treated either by bone marrow transplantation or by immuno-suppressive therapy.
