Abstract
The rare HIV-infected children should be diagnosed as soon as possible to benefit from the best management. Good compliance with the prophylactic therapy must be obtained, and treatment tolerance, subject of continuous debate, must be carefully assessed. Overall, the disease of the HIV-infected child does not differ from that of the adult; severe immunodeficiency results in the same infectious complications. All visceral diseases directly related to the virus or related to an indirect immuno-pathological mechanism (encephalopathy, cardiopathy, nephropathy, etc.) have been described in the child.
