Abstract
Writing a certificate is a common duty for a practitioner. This document records the facts that the physician has personally found and noticed. Because of the status of the practitioner, the document is officially certified and legally admitted; it involves the author's full responsibility. Spontaneously, by law or for a judicial requirement, practitioners are frequently requested, even in emergency, to certify. Law, edicts or a precise prosecutor mission determines the rules of this official record. Since practitioners may freely attest any medical statement if adequate, they should be aware of their limitations.
