Abstract
Although the present study had a high prevalence of CMP in the Spanish population, 25% of the subjects never consulted a physician. Certain attitudes and beliefs of the subjects suffering it and lack of information and communication between physician and patient may not only be a barrier to diagnosis but also to the active participation of the patient in the management of their disease.
