Abstract
Leiomyosarcoma arising from tongue is extremely rare. The present case shows that the tumor cells were mainly spindle-shaped and were strongly positive for immunoreactivity with desmin, vimentin, α1 antichymotrypsin and PCNA and were weakly positive for α-smooth muscle actin, HHF35, myoglobin and S-100. From these immunohistochemical results, the pathological diagnosis was leiomyosarcoma at the tip of the tongue.
