Talar fractures and dislocations are uncommon but even initially apparently simple fractures may be more complex after adequate investigation. Talar neck fractures and the less common talar body fractures remain a surgical challenge with high complication rates, which have been shown to be reduced by early intervention with anatomical reduction and fixation.
