Abstract
This study suggests that a rehabilitation program aimed at primary ACL healing achieves satisfactory results for the occasional athlete but that it does not provide the quality of restraint sufficient for contact or pivoting sports in competitive athletes. These patients are exposed to a high risk of chondral and meniscal injury secondary to recurrent instability.
