Abstract
The degree of professional burnout in Spanish orthopedic surgeons is greater than that found in other countries, especially as far as rates of Depersonalization and Emotional Exhaustion are concerned. There is a greater prevalence of burnout in orthopedic surgeons working in the public sector in comparison with those working in the private sector. Health Policy measures are necessary to prevent professional burnout and improve the current situation.
