Abstract
We use the Sanders and Eastwood classifications, which allow us to select treatment options. Despite controversy about functional and surgical treatment, the method chosen depends on the pathology. In patients with severe comminution of the articular surface, we still use functional treatment because articular anatomy cannot be restored. We treat other cases surgically. In fractures with two fragments, we attempt fracture reduction and osteosynthesis by an internal approach. In the most frequent group, three-fragment fractures, we use an external approach to achieve the most accurate reduction possible.
