Abstract
Minimally invasive total knee arthroplasty has evolved to reduce the pain and morbidity of knee replacement surgery. Many authors have focused on the technical factors associated with this surgery, but there are improvements as well in the economics, with reductions in length of stay and hospital charges and improvements in hospital profitability. The purpose of this report is to examine the economic impact of MIS total knee surgery on the hospital offering this service.
