Abstract
Trauma remains the leading cause of paralysis in children. Until roughly eight years of age, significant differences in injury and instability patterns are seen in children versus those seen in adults. In this paper, the authors review the recent literature regarding the assessment and management of cervical spine trauma in the pediatric population. The most common injuries are described in detail.
