Abstract
In the surgical treatment of degenerative disc disease, anterior lumbar interbody fusion with a femoral ring allograft with posterior supplemental instrumentation gives the surgeon the best opportunity for fusion and clinical success. Femoral ring allograft spacers offer the ideal fusion cage with the properties of adequate initial strength, biocompatibility with host tissues, and biologic incorporation into the fusion mass. This device can be used with minimal incision techniques that spare the posterior musculature and the morbidity of larger fusion surgeries for these patients.
