Abstract
CT scan is commonly used for evaluation of inflammatory diseases of the temporal bone. With its ability to image fine bony structures, CT scan is the primary imaging tool for the diagnosis of common and uncommon inflammatory lesions of external and middle ear cavities. The goal of the imaging studies is to provide surgeon with a precise anatomy of the temporal bone and to suggest a specific diagnosis. MRI will be used especially for the postoperative survey and for imaging of intra cranial complications of middle ear infections or to avoid the operative "second-look".
