Abstract
Firstly, the author describes the psychological signification the child attributes to his mouth and teeth, following a normal or problematic personal development. Then, he deducts the usual child's reactions when he is invited to open his mouth for a care. Finally, he proposes how the parents can prepare the examination by the dentist, and support the child in this circumstance. In a broader way, the article helps to understand how the children live every little intrusive care of their body and how to help them so that they manage it in a positive way.
