Abstract
The aim of the study is to report DMSA scintigraphy results and to try to determine the relationship between vesico ureteric reflux, bladder dysfunction and renal scars. We have studied retrospectively 60 children with acute pyelonephritis. All the children had DMSA scintigraphy. The abnormal image were classified in both acute lesion and chronic lesion. We have constituted two groups, group I with renal scars (N =16) and group II (N =40) without renal scars. Bladding dysfunction was found in 81Â % in the group I vs 70Â % in the group II (p =Â 0,51). Vesico-ureteric reflux was found in 66Â % of case in the group I vs 7,5Â % in the group II (P =Â 0,09). The relationship between vesico-ureteric reflux, bladder dysfunction and renal scars is not clear.
