Abstract
Most behavioural traits and child psychiatric disorders are thought to be influenced by genetic factors. The evidence for this comes from behaviour genetic family, twin and adoption studies. This contribution covers the nature of genetic and environmental influences on childhood psychiatric diseases and specifically looks at Autism and language disorders, Tourette syndrome and ADHD.
