Abstract
Sharp liver parenchymal transection with a scalpel is equally safe in terms of blood loss and mortality compared with the clamp crushing method. Although it is a technically demanding method, requiring selective hepatic vascular occlusion, it may be recommended when the tumor-free margins are anticipated to be narrow.
