Abstract
⺠Patients with thalamic stroke lesions performed a recognition and cued recall task. ⺠Damage to the anterior nuclei of the thalamus was negligible. ⺠Patients achieved poorer recognition accuracy and recall rate compared to controls. ⺠The deficits correlated with volume loss in the parvocellular mediodorsal nucleus. ⺠The evidence suggests a role of the parvocellular mediodorsal nucleus in recall.
