Abstract
The Leyre incised valley shows a specific strata architecture related to its wave- and tide-dominated depositional environment. The low-stand systems tract has been totally eroded by the tidal ravinement surface and the valley is entirely filled by the transgressive systems tract. The Leyre and the Gironde incised valleys have been formed within the same depositional environment and the same stratigraphic framework. Consequently, the description of the internal architecture of the Leyre incised valley enables to complete the stratigraphic model of the wave- and tide-dominated incised valleys set up by Allen et Posamentier and Lericolais et al.
