Abstract
A mixed-hybrid finite element method for scalar diffusion-convection problems is presented. In this method, the lowest degree Raviart-Thomas finite element is used for the diffusive term. The convective term is treated by means of a Lagrange multiplier which is introduced in the hybrid form. The numerical results show that this method produces very accurate solutions for high Peclet numbers.
