Abstract
Several applications of the well-known fourth-order Runge-Kutta (R.-K.) method for the time integration of the equations of motion in structural dynamics are presented. The numerical solutions are compared with the analytical solution in order to examine the solution behaviour on successively refined meshes. An interesting merit of the method lies in the fact that it can be implemented on personal computers.
