Abstract
It is usually a big trouble and disadvantage for us to synthesize linkage mechanism because of the limitation of the maximum precision points. In general, we could not synthesize “exactly” our necessary or desired linkage mechanism. This paper presents an idea, adjustable link, to overcome this imperfection. By means of adjusting link length, we could synthesize exactly any satisfied input-output relationship just using planar four-bar linkage mechanism. What we must do is to control this adjustable link to fit all different linkage positions. Two examples are given for illustration.
