Abstract
In this paper we study the numerical approximation of solutions to parabolic partial Volterra integro-differential equations in unbounded (one-dimensional) spatial domains. The key to these methods is the derivation of fully transparent artificial boundary conditions for some feasible, prescribed computational domain. Two numerical examples illustrate the application and the effectiveness of the artificial boundary method.
