Abstract
⺠Adequate food is critical to health for PLWHA, but little research has examined determinants of food insecurity among PLWHA in resource-limited settings. ⺠We found that social support and HIV-related stigma were robustly associated with food insecurity. ⺠Using longitudinal data, we found these associations to be robust to multiple specifications, including lagged covariates and fixed effects. ⺠Interventions to reduce HIV-related stigma & improve social support for PLWHA may help to interrupt the cycle of food insecurity and HIV.
