Abstract
An alternative to the thrust models, of uncertain general applicability, is the proposal that the right way up metamorphic zones in the Lesser Himalayan nappes represent the high level cover to the High Himalayan Crystallines, preserved by downfaulting on a listric normal fault which joined the active MCT.
