Abstract
Using matched employer-employee data on the Taiwanese manufacturing sector, we find a negative relationship between wage dispersion and job reallocation, and (excess) worker turnover, whilst greater excess separation of lower quality workers is shown to be a characteristic of plants with more flexible wage structures.
