Abstract
Optical saturation of fluorescence is studied taking into account the effect of rotational diffusion of molecules. It is shown that if the rotational diffusion time adopts values on the order of the fluorescence lifetime, optical saturation of the fluorescence increasingly deviates from the classical saturation curve towards lower fluorescence intensity values.
