Abstract
A novel red phosphor, (Li0.333Na0.334K0.333)Eu(MoO4)2 (LNKEM), was prepared by solid state reaction technique at high temperature. Its photo-luminescent property was investigated and compared with that of Y2O2S: 0.05Eu3+, the phosphor currently used in near UV LED (light-emitting diode). It is found that LNKEM shows higher luminescent intensity, and the CIE (Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage, International Commission on Illumination) chromaticity coordinates of LNKEM is closer to the NTSC standard values than that of Y2O2S: 0.05Eu3+. An intense red-emitting LED was fabricated by combining mono-phosphor LNKEM with a â¼400Â nm emitting InGaN chip.
