Abstract
Two-dimensional hyperfine sublevel correlation (2D-HYSCORE) spectra of the radicals of the redox-active YD and YZ tyrosine in photosystem (PS) II were measured in Mn-depleted PS II core particles from histidine-tagged wild-type and YD-deficient cells of the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. Detailed electronic structures of the YD and YZ radicals were evaluated based on the proton hyperfine tensors determined from 2D-HYSCORE spectra, and compared with values reported in other organisms.
