Abstract
Crystals of lithium dicobalt triphosphate were obtained from the starting products Li2CO3, CoCO3 and (NH4)2HPO4 corresponding to the formula Li2Co(PO3)4. The stoichiometric mixture was ground before being heated gradually to melting point (1123 K), then cooled slowly (3 K/h) to 200 °C. The magnetic susceptibility, magnetic specific heat and magnetic entropy at low temperature of the compound LiCo2P3O10 were calculated theoretically using the Fisher, Dimer and Ising quantum mechanics models. The results show that the exchange interaction between the two ions Co2+-Co2+ is antiferromagnetic.
