Abstract
Homogeneous and inhomogeneous escape probabilities have been calculated from atomic absorption measurements. Two distinct expressions for the homogeneous and inhomogeneous escape probability given by Kastner and Kastner were compared. Calculations were performed using Doppler line profile for a pair of copper resonance lines at 3247.5 and 3273.96 Å, respectively. The dependence of the homogeneous/inhomogeneous escape probability, which is referred to as the opacity ratio, on the optical depth has been discussed.
