Abstract
Sulfate-, molybdate- and tungstate-promoted Al2O3-ZrO2 solid acid catalysts were synthesized and investigated by various techniques, which provide information that the impregnated sulfate ions show a relatively strong influence on the physicochemical properties of alumina-zirconia. The SO42â/Al2O3-ZrO2 catalyst exhibits better product yields under very mild reaction conditions for acetylation of alcohols and amines with acetic anhydride in the liquid phase.
