Abstract
⺠We propose a new test for measuring independence of discounting from quality of life. ⺠We use a large sample of Dutch citizens. ⺠2 health states better than dead (BTD) and 1 worse than dead (WTD) are included. ⺠Independence is rejected between BTD and WTD states, but not within BTD states. ⺠We conclude that independence holds when only using BTD health states.
