Abstract
⺠We examine the effect of migrant networks on firm-level export outcomes. ⺠We exploit the unique historical background of Portuguese emigration flows. ⺠We find that migrant networks promote export participation and intensity. ⺠Networks are a source of market and firm heterogeneity in entry costs and demand.
