Abstract
⺠We study the geography of wealth transfers at the height of the financial crisis. ⺠We construct valuation changes on bilateral external positions. ⺠We find a diverse set of fortunes governed by the structure of countries' portfolios. ⺠Losses on debt portfolios are related to the country's exposure to ABS.
