Abstract
► We use an earthquake to identify the effects of transport infrastructure on exports. ► Our analysis exploits firm-level export data and geo-referenced infrastructure information. ► Diminished transport infrastructure had a strong negative impact on firms' exports. ► This impact primarily originated from a reduction in the number of shipments. ► Exports of more homogeneous goods from large firms were particularly affected.
