Abstract
► We examine the auction data of public power procurements. ► We study the impact of the regulatory reform of the retail power market. ► We control for the endogeneity bias caused by the entrants' bid-submission decisions. ► Power charges declined by 0.48 yen/kWh when two or more providers bid at an auction.
