Abstract
⺠The paper examines how real variables affect the relative price of traded goods. ⺠The relative price of traded goods is constructed using retail prices and prices at the dock. ⺠The first measure emphasizes the importance of distribution services. ⺠The second measure highlights the importance of home bias in consumption. ⺠The empirical analysis finds that both distribution services and home bias are important.
