Abstract
⺠We construct a series of new indicators of aggregate managerial innovation. ⺠Relationships between management innovations and economic variables are estimated. ⺠Evidence indicates managerial innovations increase short-run output and productivity. ⺠Both Managerial and non-managerial advances are important drivers of business cycles. ⺠Some advances in management are linked to new product and process technologies.
