Abstract
► This research describes asset-backed security markets (ABS), their growth and the effect of credit crisis on ABS markets. ► Research identifies the effect of interventions by the central bank and the government on ABS markets. ► TALF was an important intervention by Fed to breathe life into asset-backed securities market after the onset of credit crisis. ► Contributions made by Sean Campbell, Daniel Covitz, William Nelson and Karen Pence in their papers on the subject are discussed.
