Abstract
Tribochemstry of Al2O3-TiC head-disk with lubricant FomblinZ-DOL and Krytox-AD containing-OH and CF3 end group have been studied. Changes in friction coefficient have been observed during continuous sliding with Al2O3-TiC head during various run. The analysis of wear fragments with Mass spectrometer shows that decomposition of FomblinZ-DOL and Krytox-AD leads to formation of different ions and free radicals and it depends upon the nature of lubricants. It is suggested that FomblinZ-DOL lubricants is better than Krytox-AD.
