Abstract
The equilibrium partitioning of model aroma compounds into a membrane polymer, poly(octylmethylsiloxane) (POMS) is studied. Linear sorption isotherms were determined in the concentration range relevant to subsequent pervaporation studies, both in aqueous solution as well as in presence of 10Â wt.% of ethanol. Multi-component sorption studies confirmed sorption coefficients obtained with binary solutions, indicating that possible solute-solute interactions had no apparent effect on the partitioning of the solutes into the membrane.
